April Session Spotlight with Emily Burke

As we’ve said before, the talent on The Bloom Forum is really unsurpassed and nothing makes us more inspired than seeing these gorgeous sessions roll into our email box every month. There is a sense of magic and connection with each one and with this kind of talent, it can be very hard to decide which one to spotlight.

This month, our panel of moderators chose this beautiful session by Emily Burke of Emily Burke Photography in New York City because of its candid, free flowing story of a family reconnecting in Central Park.

Here is what Emily had to say about this touching session:

This session took place in Central Park in New York City on a beautiful, magically lit evening in the middle of April. Photographing this family was such a wonderful experience. I was reduced to tears once I came home and uploaded the images onto my computer. This family lives on the west coast and was visiting NYC because the father is a musician and was preparing to go on tour for several months. I could really feel their love for each other during this shoot and editing the images was incredibly emotional. I used my 135mm and 85mm lenses so I could step back and let them interact naturally with each other.  They were a joy to photograph and I am so inspired to photograph more families.
