October Session Spotlight | Jackie Acosta
One of the things I love most about the Bloom Forum is the variety of our members. From new hobbyists to seasoned veterans, from fine art portraiture to pet photography, our members represent all facets of the photography industry. And no matter who they are, they’re always willing to dive in and share their passion for their art. This holds true for Jackie Acosta of Photography by Jackie Jean. A fairly new member of our community, Jackie Jean’s images stood out the first time she shared. They are rich and beautiful and full of emotion. Her experience and passion shines through in this recent family session.
Here’s what she said about it:
I was really excited about this shoot as mom and I had gone back and forth with ideas a few days prior. Initially, we were going to do more of a summery shoot (was in TX!) but it cooled off the day of and we went with an Autumn theme instead and I am so glad we did! Mom brought all the props and I set up “stations” where the light was good. Shooting toddlers can be a challenge so I wanted to have everything set up prior to shooting. This family was very natural in front of the camera which only made my job easier. I made sure to get those moments in between props and they are some of my favorites. The sun had set during our shoot so I cranked up my iso for the hammock shots and I used the 135mm lens for the entire shoot on my Nikon D200. This shoot has only increased my love of family portraiture! I love being able to capture a genuine love for each other.
